  10. I don't know you guys...
But Addie is one of my BEST friends.
When she was telling me about Josie I just started crying....
I put her in all of my prayers and requests for God to save.
I even made a bulletin on myspace and got about 56 views.
Everyone was asking about who she was and what she has but i don't really know about her.
This touched my heart, I don't even know Josie but kept her in my prayers.

P.S. She is in a better place now

  15. I left out something...
Josie was an angel sent from above to teach us a lesson.
And that lesson was that you should keep trying until you just can't try anymore.
I can't wait till I go to heaven and meet Josie Gray. (a.k.a the great fighter)
You guys will still be in my prayers.

  17. The Gray Family,

We were just talking about Josie at church tonight. About how the doctors couldn't explain how she was still hanging in there but we knew that God's plan for her had not been fulfilled. When I lost a cousin at a young age, his parents were told in counseling to not think of his life being cut short because God does not make mistakes. Josie accomplished more for the Kingdom of God than many do in 80 years. As hard as it was to read that she has left this earth, just imagine the homecoming she is getting in Heaven. During my cousin's funeral the preacher had said that if he were given to the chance to come back to this earth that he would not want to leave Heaven. That's how perfect it is there in the presence of Jesus. My prayer for your family is that the peace that the Father offers wrap completely around you and carry you through the days ahead. You will remain in our prayers. Our lives have been better for knowing Josie.

    Love and prayers in Christ,
Shane and April Simpson and kids

  21. Josie touched more lives in her short time on earth than most will do if they lived to 100.
Our prayer is that her leaving this earth will point others to Christ, and cause people to see their need of a Savior in order that they may have the Blessed Hope of not only seeing her again, but be able to spend eternity together with her!
We grieve with you, knowing how much you will miss her.
We rejoice with you, knowing she is pain free and in a perfect body.
We love you and pray for God's comfort for you and your whole family.

  36. We are praying for you. Not just now but for the months to come. It helps me to know that you know death is not the end, just a small separation compared to eternity. In the difficault times a head just remember GOD IS JUST, and when the devil tries to make you in your pain and lonliness blame him, remember Josie never blamed him. I Know from losing family so very close the road ahead is very long and hard, but there again GOD IS FAITHFUL. We will be praying for you.

  39. Having never known Josie, it is amazing to know how praying for her has united so many people. Just this past week I spent two sleepless nights, prompted to pray, pray, pray. Anyone whose life brings people to the throne of God must be very special.
But I am glad that she doesn't have to fight anymore. I am glad she is healed. I am sad she is gone, but this life isn't the point. Eternal life is.
So today, I pray for peace that passes understanding for your family. I know you are in pain, but it is a beautiful pain, that will be over when you hold your baby girl again someday.

    Love and prayers,

  48. There are things in this life we will never completely understand. We do know, however, God supplies us with the tools we need to face our journey. Children with life threatening illnesses show us this time and time again through their 'accelerated' maturity and unmatched courage. Tools Josie used every day of her life. At the very least, we should all follow Josie's example. God supplies us with the tools it is all in how we use them.

To the Grays and Lyles….you have shown us amazing strength, family unity and faith in God. May these tools continue to carry you.

I can’t imagine what she went through and how hard it was for her and the family! One thing about it is she was a FIGHTER!! Josie is an inspiration to many people who just want to give up! I know its hard to loose someone you love very much.. It happened to me once. We just have to realize that they are in a much better place. I know it is hard to realize that because I had a rough time with it. I just wanted them back so bad and still do but we will one day see them again and that will be in Heaven. I can only picture what Heavens like but I know its GREAT! God has a plan for each and every one of us. God has his reasons for why he makes things happen and no one knows why but I bet he had his for Josie. I never got to meet her but from what I’ve heard she was an AWESOME girl! My prayers go out to the family and everyone who knew Josie!!

    The angels were gathering flowers,
To put in the Master’s bouquet.
    The angels were gathering flowers,
That’s why they took her away.
But someday we’ll see her up yonder,
At home on that beautiful shore,
When we will be gathered like flowers,
With loved ones who’ve gone on before.
A glorious day will be dawning,
With happiness all through the hours,
The garden of love will be blooming,
    And angels still gathering flowers.

  93. I am not member of First Baptist Church but I do visit twice a month. I recall Bro Ray asking us to pray for sick Josie but I wasn't sure who she was or her situation but I did pray for her. I want to pray that the family find healing during this difficult time. The Lord can mend a broken heart but he needs all the pieces

  95. Dearest Heather & Family,
I just learned late this past week, of your recent loss of dearest Josie. My heart & prayers go out to you & each of your family members. I will always consider myself blessed to have had the opportunity to be one of Josie's nurses at LeBonheur & will remember you with fondest thoughts & prayers. May our Lord & Savior be your constant Comforter during these hardest of days. Know that you did ALL a Mom can do to make Josie's life the best it could be. "Our loss is heaven's gain" & I believe, one day we will see Josie again, free of the burdens she carried in this earthly life, & know His fulness of Joy!
    With loving thoughts of you.

  103. I am so sorry for your loss. I know what you're going through because we too lost a daughter, Marsha to CF. As much as we miss her we know that she is in a better place and no longer suffering. Who knows, our two angels could have met already. You are in our prayers.
