But Addie is one of my BEST friends.
When she was telling me about Josie I just started crying....
I put her in all of my prayers and requests for God to save.
I even made a bulletin on myspace and got about 56 views.
Everyone was asking about who she was and what she has but i don't really know about her.
This touched my heart, I don't even know Josie but kept her in my prayers.

    -Addie's friend-

P.S. She is in a better place now

  15. I left out something...
Josie was an angel sent from above to teach us a lesson.
And that lesson was that you should keep trying until you just can't try anymore.
I can't wait till I go to heaven and meet Josie Gray. (a.k.a the great fighter)
You guys will still be in my prayers.

    -Addie's friend-

God Bless, Hugh and Pam Adkins, Ernie's Class

  17. The Gray Family,

We were just talking about Josie at church tonight. About how the doctors couldn't explain how she was still hanging in there but we knew that God's plan for her had not been fulfilled. When I lost a cousin at a young age, his parents were told in counseling to not think of his life being cut short because God does not make mistakes. Josie accomplished more for the Kingdom of God than many do in 80 years. As hard as it was to read that she has left this earth, just imagine the homecoming she is getting in Heaven. During my cousin's funeral the preacher had said that if he were given to the chance to come back to this earth that he would not want to leave Heaven. That's how perfect it is there in the presence of Jesus. My prayer for your family is that the peace that the Father offers wrap completely around you and carry you through the days ahead. You will remain in our prayers. Our lives have been better for knowing Josie.

    Love and prayers in Christ,
Shane and April Simpson and kids

Though the seperation is hard and difficult, one day your family will be reunited with Josie in heaven. Josie touched so many lives. Her determinination and will has inspired many. We love you guys.

  21. Josie touched more lives in her short time on earth than most will do if they lived to 100.
Our prayer is that her leaving this earth will point others to Christ, and cause people to see their need of a Savior in order that they may have the Blessed Hope of not only seeing her again, but be able to spend eternity together with her!
We grieve with you, knowing how much you will miss her.
We rejoice with you, knowing she is pain free and in a perfect body.
We love you and pray for God's comfort for you and your whole family.

  33. Josie was a strong young ladie. She has shown us all to not give up in any situation that may come to us. I know that I will never give up. All us here at Bolivar Ford are deeply going to miss those Saturday visit from her. God Bless you and your family.

  34. Josie was a special girl to very many people. She was a true witness for our Lord and Saviour. Your family is our prayers.

  35. Although I never met Josie, our family has been praying for you all during her last struggle. As much as my heart aches for you all,I have a picture in my mind that she is playing now, running, with full breath and a huge smile on her face.

    Rodney and Becky McBride

  36. We are praying for you. Not just now but for the months to come. It helps me to know that you know death is not the end, just a small separation compared to eternity. In the difficault times a head just remember GOD IS JUST, and when the devil tries to make you in your pain and lonliness blame him, remember Josie never blamed him. I Know from losing family so very close the road ahead is very long and hard, but there again GOD IS FAITHFUL. We will be praying for you.

  37. Our family is so sorry for your loss, no parent should ever loose their child so early. We didn't know Josie or your family, our thoughts and prayers go out to you during this time. We know God has a plan for her and that's why he took her to be with him, may God bless your family.

  38. May God continute to Bless you in your time of mourning for Josie. We go to church with the Huffmans and Atoka UMC has been praying nonstop for her and your family. An Angel has been called home and her work on Earth is done.

    God Bless, The Howells

  39. Having never known Josie, it is amazing to know how praying for her has united so many people. Just this past week I spent two sleepless nights, prompted to pray, pray, pray. Anyone whose life brings people to the throne of God must be very special.
But I am glad that she doesn't have to fight anymore. I am glad she is healed. I am sad she is gone, but this life isn't the point. Eternal life is.
So today, I pray for peace that passes understanding for your family. I know you are in pain, but it is a beautiful pain, that will be over when you hold your baby girl again someday.

    Love and prayers,
    Diane Thomas

  40. Our hearts are sad and our prayers are with the entire family. Josie was an inspriation to all who knew her. We are here for you and know that the next few days will be very difficult. The 5K Run at Middleton will not be the same however we will have comfort in knowing that both Tonia and Josie are telling us to keep working hard to help find a cure so other kids do not have to suffer like they did. Eddie and Patricia Carter - Middleton

  46. I pray that God will comfort you during this difficult time. I personally did not know Josie, but she was a inspiration to me to never give up. She was a massive fighter. I know that it is hard to belive this right now but this was God's plan all along and he walked side by side with her throught it all. I am thankful for he 14 years of memories that you were given together. She was a miracle work of God. I know she will be missed my many. May God bless you all.

  47. We are so sorry for your loss...we will continue to pray for your family. Trust in the Lord through this difficult time, and may He bring you peace and understanding.

We love you all, Johnie, Angela, Johnie, Austin & Megan

  48. There are things in this life we will never completely understand. We do know, however, God supplies us with the tools we need to face our journey. Children with life threatening illnesses show us this time and time again through their 'accelerated' maturity and unmatched courage. Tools Josie used every day of her life. At the very least, we should all follow Josie's example. God supplies us with the tools it is all in how we use them.

To the Grays and Lyles….you have shown us amazing strength, family unity and faith in God. May these tools continue to carry you.

    Amber, Shawn and Ashton

  49. Chris, Heather, and Family,

We are very sorry for your loss. We will always remember Josie and you all will be in our prayers. She was a remarkable girl. Trust that she is with the Lord. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you.

Nicole Mitchell (I was Rudy's co-chief at LeBonheur).

  52. Josie was living proof that ANGELS live among us. Although I hadn't seen her in several years she touched my life forever. Even as a very small child she was full of Heavenly Goodness and Strength, and Faith. Chris and Heather know God did not intrust her to just anyone He entrusted her life to two very special people, the two of you. I love you both! Terri

  53. Josie was a true inspiration to me. I will never forget your smiling face. She was one amazing little girl. I am praying for you all.

  57. I have gotten on here several times since Darren called me last night and would type something and delete. Just kept thinking to myself what do I say to a family who is in so much pain right now. What can I say to take the hurt away and I kept telling myself NOTHING. Just know that your family is in our prayers today and for many many days to come.

    Denise Acey

I am amazed at the faith you have all shown.  God is good.  I have learned to pray without ceasing through your family's battle with Josie's disease.  God has blessed many people through all of this.  May God grant you peace in knowing that her mansion has been built and she is home now.  We will continue to pray for you and your family.  Use evry shoulder you need.  God bless you.The Ramsey family

  72. Hey. I am so sorry to hear about Josie! I prayed for her every night! It made me thank a little because I just turned 14... I can’t imagine what she went through and how hard it was for her and the family! One thing about it is she was a FIGHTER!! Josie is an inspiration to many people who just want to give up! I know its hard to loose someone you love very much.. It happened to me once. We just have to realize that they are in a much better place. I know it is hard to realize that because I had a rough time with it. I just wanted them back so bad and still do but we will one day see them again and that will be in Heaven. I can only picture what Heavens like but I know its GREAT! God has a plan for each and every one of us. God has his reasons for why he makes things happen and no one knows why but I bet he had his for Josie. I never got to meet her but from what I’ve heard she was an AWESOME girl! My prayers go out to the family and everyone who knew Josie!!

    The angels were gathering flowers,
To put in the Master’s bouquet.
    The angels were gathering flowers,
That’s why they took her away.
But someday we’ll see her up yonder,
At home on that beautiful shore,
When we will be gathered like flowers,
With loved ones who’ve gone on before.
A glorious day will be dawning,
With happiness all through the hours,
The garden of love will be blooming,
    And angels still gathering flowers.
