  6. you don't know me, a co-worker of mine (kathryn welch) told me about your daughter, Josie. My name is Casey and I have a brother who is almost 38 with Cystic Fibrosis. My whole family has been involved with 65Roses and many other CF organizations. It always breaks my heart to know of someone struggling with this disease. There is never a respite from CF, just good days and bad days. I am so thankful to know that Josie has such a massive community of people who have (and still do)cared about her. My mother is one of the strongest people I know, because every day that you have a sick child is a heartwrenching and painful day of prayer and fervent hope.
Just know that a family in Gadsden,TN, Memphis,TN and clear up to Podunk, IL feels for your family and sends our most heartfelt and sincere love, and prayers for heavenly comfort.

  14. The service today was the most inspirational funeral service I have ever attended. We all knew what an amazing person Josie was—but the outpouring of friends really proved that today and last night. We were all blessed to have known Josie. Josie was truly a loving and inspiring person but she got it honest. I do believe that Heather is the most loving and courageous mother I have ever known!!!!

Our family has cried many tears over the last few days—yes we are going to miss Josie greatly. We have lots of fun memories of her being at the house, going on trips with us, etc. But much of our heartache came from knowing or thinking what the family was going through and how they were going to handle the coming days without her. She was the “center” of that entire family. Heather’s words today were of such comfort. She was right—God was there with her—holding her up—allowing her to speak such inspiring words. She had just lost a precious child but knew that Josie was now free from pain and now living with our Wonderful Savior. Her faith is so strong that there she was comforting all of us—how amazing is that. Her wish was that through all of this that Josie brought people closer to the Lord. I truly believe she did, but Heather so did you! The entire family is a great example of what God wants us to be—loving, caring, and full of faith. Each of you are a living testimony of what one can do with Christ in their lives. All of you have touched so many lives in a way that you will probably never know. I am sure the last few months were emotionally draining on the family- but yet when we would go visit, they were all full of smiles and hope and most of all faith. Even last night, they were standing there for hours comforting each of us one by one. Their faith lifted us up. Josie was blessed to have such a loving family! God knew what he was doing when he gave Josie to this wonderful family.

All of us that know Christ as our Savior, know that we will see Josie again some day and spend eternity together.

We know that some of the coming days will be very lonely for you. We will continue to pray that God continues to keep his arms around you to give you strength to go on.

We love you all so much.
