Josie had another pretty good day today. She had some students and teachers from school come visit her. This was wonderful! Thank you guys for visiting Josie! I know it is a fairly long drive to St. Louis and we really appreciate it. She was awake a little more today and tried to play her Nintendo DS. She ate pretty good as well. We made a huge calender and a chart for Josie so she could see what day it is when she wakes up since she sleeps a lot. She likes to keep up on everything you know.LOL. It may be too soon to call Josie's progress a miracle, but we already feel like it is. She is much better than last weekend. Josie is the first pediatric to try a new medicine for rejection that really hasn't even been approved yet. She has had 3 treatments of this new medicine in a week and so far it has had some positive results. We hope and pray this will be a break thru for future CF patients. Josie wanted her doctor to list her name when these results were posted around the country for this new study. Her appetite has gotten better as well. She even ate some of her favorite french onion soup from the St. Louis Bread Company.(one of her favorite places to eat here in St. Louis) Thank goodness it's close to the hospital because it sure is COLD here.LOL! Hopefully our Jos will continue to keep getting better each day. We thank God for her progress!!! He must still have a plan for her. We also thank everyone for their prayers!!!!!!!!!! It is also nice to read all the warm comments made on the blog. We all read them each day, and it inspires us to know how many people really care!!!!!

We are Virginia Moore's ( 7th grader @ TRA)family. I am Susan (the mom) we have been praying for Josie and your family since we heard she desperately needed prayer. My husband, Dale, has been especially burdened to pray for a miracle for your little princess. You see, we have 5 children, Virginia being the youngest @ 12 yrs, and we can't even begin to imagine the difficulties you face every moment of every day. BUT, we know the God we love and serve hears our prayers and is able to do above and beyond what we pray. God is so good and he loves ya'll so much that He's got everyone around the Millington area praying for a very special little princess named Josie! We will continue to lift ya'll up to the throne of grace...............

I learned of this wonderful blog through an e-mail from the CF Foundation. My family and I walk each year in memory of a dear friend my daughter is named after who lost her fight with CF several years ago, Jessica Chaisson. We are so excited for your continued strength and the positive results of the new medication. Know that we are keeping up with you and sending fervent prayers your way!!

I would have to agree on the miracle, Heather! I sent an email here at Brighton High about Josie to ask for prayers for her. I have had several people stop and say they had her added to their church prayer lists. God has a plan for Josie and she hasn't completed it!!!! I have always been so encouraged by her smile and I never heard her complain. We will continue prayer for all of you guys!

I agree that God has great plans for Josie and for her family. She has been a fighter all of her life and she continues to fight. We're still praying that God's will be done in Josie. I firmly believe that she is an angel that God has put on this earth to accomplish wonderful things and she is certainly doing this. She's got a wonderful family and many, many friends pulling for her and praying for her. She has touched many lives and hearts and made a true difference in so many people's lives and she continues to do so. Ashton asked me to ask you to please tell Josie that she misses her, loves her, and is praying for her. Our prayers and love are with you all.

You are special beyond words. When God first gave us our Boney Macaroni 14 years ago, you touched all of us in a way that noone or nothing else ever had. Your attitude and strength has always left us speechless. I can promise you, that our prayers for you never stopped, regardless of circumstances- (but I am still sorry.) We are so proud to even know you, and I can't say enough about what a hero you are in so many ways to us and countless others. We truly know there is only one Jos. We love you so very very much. Aunt Carol, Cara (sissy), and Seth

ReplyDeletehello josie and family. i was so excited when i heard, or read rather, of josie's progress. she has been the priority of not only my prayers, but also my friend's and their family's. she is loved by so many people, which you probably already knew. also if there is anything that my mother or myself can do, please don't hesitate to ask. well before i end this comment i would love if you could pass something to josie for me, if that's alright, if not that's fine.
ReplyDeletejosie, i just want you to know that you are my hero. you have inspired me beyond any kind of words to explain. you amaze me day after day with your strength and your never give up attitude. you are most definitely one of a kind, and i'm so glad to have you as a friend. although you are miles and miles away, i keep you close in my heart; you're never technically far at all, even though that's how it seems. i love and miss you ever so much, and never forget how much i care about you.
love always,
megan mcdivitt
